Pamela (Pam) Baergen is an artist and curator based in Amiskwacîwâskahikan/ Edmonton. She studied Fine Art at MacEwan University and received a BA from the University of Alberta majoring in the History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture, with a minor in Christian Theology.
Pam’s artwork combines drawing and collage, often layering analog textures from discarded books, papers, fabric, nature, and vintage craft mediums with photographic imagery. Her work explores how place, family history, technology, instinct, and superstition can inform the perception of one’s self and influence connections and disconnections between humans.
Her work has been shown in public exhibitions throughout Canada and the USA. A selection of her work is available for rent or purchase through the Art Gallery Of St. Albert’s Art Rental and Sales program. Other works are held in private collections in Canada. In 2022, Pam received the ISAP Award from the International Society of Experimental artists together with Rick Rogers for their collaborative piece “Cast Off, Stitch On”.
